Montcada gallery opened its doors eight years ago in the district of La Ribera, under the direction of Montse Costa, with the Museo Picasso as a neighbour and main centre of attention in the zone.

In July of 2007, the gallery starts a new stage: Montcada Art Contemporani. Rafa Martínez is the director and Cristina Sampere the art adviser in this project with a clear goal: to exhibit contemporary artists with very different styles, albeit sharing a certain background, and with quality as the main reference.

Montcada gallery is in Barcelona’s most visited street. So, one of the possibilities offered are the programmed exhibitions, adapted to the visitor’s profile, who can buy a CMYK-processed image signed and numbered for 40€, or an original in big-size format.

At the same time, and complementing the individual exhibitions, Montcada gallery publishes a catalogue and CMYK-processed images, so that everyone can have access to the works of his preferred artist.

The gallery’s programme is based on three collective exhibitions and five individual ones every season.

We want to contribute to the artistic and cultural vitality of Barcelona.
